Take me to Creative Church ✨💒

Hey, creative soul, How have you been? ❤️ It’s been a few months since my last newsletter. And this edition is specifically written to remind you that even when the world is painful as hell, another future is possible. When the world is too much I just want to acknowledge that the world is a bit much at the moment. 💔 I feel the weight of it all in my body - the collective darkness descending on us all, Gaza starved at the brink of famine, Israel’s attacks on Iran, trans rights being revoked...

Souha Al-Mersal, Stella Nisreen Kanaan and Lana Oudeh at the event on Palestinian trauma and healing for IWD 2025

Hey, Reader I am a woman with lots of privilege. Just for the sake of clarity - I define privilege as both unearned advantages and the ability to ignore struggles that don’t directly affect me. I am white, cis-gendered, straight, able-bodied, a mother in a nuclear family of four, well-educated, own a home, live in one of the wealthiest and most privileged countries in the world with free healthcare and access to education and a bunch of other things that I didn’t have to do anything for other...

A nocturnal portrait of a tree

Hey, Reader, Happy New Year (calendar-wise), and especially continued wintering. 🖤 Rest, deep sleep, contemplation, and generally doing as little as possible have been my life since mid-December. The Northern Hemisphere is in the thick of the winter, and especially here in Scandinavia, it's the darkest time of the year. In Slovenia, where I am from, the nights between the winter solstice and Epiphany (January 6th) are called wolf nights. Our ancestors believed that the veil between the...

A pie chart drawing of normal work week vs. 55-hour work week

Hey, Reader I hope you're having a great start to your week, for many of us in the Northern hemisphere, the last one before the holidays. I've been writing this piece about the work-life balance myth, as it's been on my mind for a long time and because it is super present in my clients' lives. I hope it opens up a new perspective. ⚖️ The scale is the wrong metaphor This idea of work-life balance suggests that the underlying structure is a SCALE and that work and life are two parts of our...

A dragon-like creature with red eyes swirling in smoke around a woman

Hey beautiful human, I felt like sharing something with you because it's been a real epiphany moment for me. A little while ago, I felt held back by myself. There were things I wanted to write about and services I wanted to offer, and I just couldn't get myself to do it. I would go for walks in nature to understand what was holding me back and why it was so damn difficult to speak my truth, offer my services and - do the work I am here to do. I've tried to uncover what was at the heart of it...

A group of people holding the web of strings with their hands while balancing a stone on it.

Hey, Reader I’ve been writing this piece for a long time. I thought I was going to send it out before the summer. But it’s since completely transformed. Conflict is close to my heart because I was raised in a high-conflict system, some quite dysfunctional. I’ve also been bullied (mentally and physically) in school. I’ve not learned how to solve conflicts constructively. The two predominant patterns in the culture around me that I’ve internalised have been sweeping under the carpet, or...

A bonfire at a beach

Hey, Reader I hope things are spring-y and blooming in your life. The weather here in Copenhagen has been sunny for many days, so I’m soaking it all in. 🌸☀️ It’s been a while since my last newsletter because I’ve been processing many things. Witnessing the world’s violence and lack of conscious relating has felt like continuous punches to the gut, and in stark contrast, Creative Catalyst, my leadership program, kicked off with a wonderful group of creative leaders—giving me immense joy and...

Hey, Reader How is spring treating you so far? 🌷 I’m still vibing from a new beginning last week. In the northern hemisphere, we celebrated the spring equinox, the end of winter and the arrival of spring, renewal, fertility, and rebirth. It’s a time when night and day are equally long, and we can welcome the new energetic year, a new beginning. It’s also the time to say goodbye to Morana (the Slavic goddess of death and winter) and welcome Vesna (one of the Slavic goddesses of spring) and the...

Hey, Reader I hope this email finds you well on this International Women’s Day. It seems like a timely topic. Women have an increased experience of impostor syndrome and systemic barriers working against us, and this is especially true for women with intersectional identities with factors such as race, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, ability, socio-economic background and neurodivergence as factors, creating additional pressure and self-doubt. I’ve got a lot to say about this...

Hey, Reader, I hope you've had a good transition into 2024. As I scroll through my social media feeds, I see many posts about goal-setting, go-getting, and go-get-ready’s for the year ahead. There is so much to achieve, boxes to tick, successes to create and destinations to arrive at. There are also posts about setting intentions for the year, choosing a word for the year, and generally taking a bit softer approach. I am definitely in this latter group after spending decades in...
